ATTENTION ALL SKILLED GUYANESE REGISTRATION OF SKILLED GUYANESE NATIONALS
The Guyana High Commission has embarked on an exercise to update its
register of skilled Guyanese professionals and businessmen, resident in the United Kingdom.
The main reasons for this exercise are twofold:
(a) Many
Guyanese resident in the United Kingdom have expressed
a desire to assist in the task of rebuilding of our beloved nation
and are willing to contribute their skills
whenever possible. The registration exercise will allow for a clear assessment
of skills
and determination of the availability of such skills in the United Kingdom.
(b) The
High Commission would like to update its list of the various
skills with the objective of strengthening
relations between professionals in Guyana and the United

OF BOOKS ON GUYANA
The essential guide to books on Guyana and by Guyanese writers, "Bibliography of Guyana
and Guyanese Writers", Third Edition, authored by Lal Balkaran, has been published with a Foreword by Professor
Jan Carew.
This is the 3rd edition of a solid reference guide on books written on Guyana over the years since 1596
when Sir Walter Raleigh's volume on part of the country first appeared and includes books written by Guyanese and published
in and out of Guyana on a range of other subjects.
Containing almost 2,000 titles and more than 1,100 authors
the book is comprehensively organised into one index and three Appendices. For the first time there is a broad based
bibliographical reference showcasing the range of books on Guyana and Guyanese writers. The titles are categorised into
