Such visitors must however, be in possession of a passport valid for a least six
(6) months and a return/onward air ticket.
The following documents should be presented when applying for
a visa:
1. Valid passport (at least (6) months validity);
2. Two (2) passport-size photographs and two (2)
application forms;
3. Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the visit; proof of other satisfactory arrangement
for support while in Guyana, inclusive of a letter of invitation from the host in Guyana; a recent bank statement; letter
from employer; and where applicable, business letter with certificate from the Chamber of Commerce, etc., attesting to the
status of the business.
If coming to take up employment or to reside in Guyana, a letter of approval from the Ministry
of Home Affairs or other appropriate evidence should be provided.
NOTE:
1. There is no assurance that a visa would be issued, and any preparation or plan made for the journey would be done
at the applicant's own risk.
2. Failure to complete the form properly as well as to provide supporting documents
will delay the processing of the application.
3. Under normal conditions, application for visas should be submitted
at least one (1) week in advance of proposed date of travel.
4. The granting of a visa does not necessarily guarantee
entry into Guyana. Entry will depend upon satisfying the usual Immigration requirements/procedures at the port of entry.
5. A visitor who without permission, breeches his/her condition of entry while in Guyana may become eligible for deportation.
6. Employment could be paid or unpaid, and includes religious occupation.
7. Pre-paid arrangements must
be made by the applicant if passport is to be returned by a courier service. The account number must be given.
